As part of the Commercial Evaluation team, the Financial Modeling Specialist will assist in the financial modelling and evaluation services required by the organization to support the business development process, as well as the long-term strategic planning and business planning processes.
Responsibilities
Key functions include:
- Support the development of business cases;
- Provide financial modelling and analysis services to various areas and/or key projects;
- Maintain and develop NB Power’s long-term financial model.
Qualifications
The ideal teammate will have:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field is required;
- A professional accounting designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Master of Business Administration (MBA) would be an asset;
- Eight years of progressively responsible experience post degree in the areas of financial modeling, business case preparation, and financial analysis;
- Experience in the Utility Industry;
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Have a demonstrated understanding of the use and interrelationship between financial statements and between financial and operational information.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
