FAQs

Please fill out the online form above to confirm your eligibility to participate. By submitting your information you give the volunteer permission to eFile on your behalf. You will be contacted within seven business days by a volunteer to set a mutually agreeable time to go through the tax filing questions. You will be asked to send clear pictures or scans via secure email of your identification and tax slips.

The CPA NB tax clinics are virtual only (no in-person; no phone-only appointments). Other organizations have tax clinics similar to ours, and some may offer a “drop off service” (where the public can put their documents in a secure dropbox, which is collected by a volunteer). If our clinic isn’t suitable, you can also visit the CRA’s website for more options. Under the “Find a tax clinic in your area” link, you can search for local tax clinics by city/town. This listing will also indicate if it’s in person; virtual; or drop off. Last year we also had some clients without access to/knowledge of technology have a friend or family member talk to the CPA volunteer with their permission and on their behalf.

Please fill in an application request via the CPA NB website in the name of each person who needs to file.

Please note that it may be seven business days before you hear from a volunteer. If you have not been contacted within seven business days, please contact us.

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to recommend any one tax software program over another. However, the Government of Canada's website does have a list of free tax filing software you may select from. Should you decide to use CPA NB’s virtual tax clinic (where all correspondence will be done by email and phone (no in-person appointments)), you can read more (including eligibility requirements), and request an appointment, on our website.
