Immediate need for CVITP volunteers!

Help those in need file their taxes and get their benefits!

Last year, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) helped New Brunswickers receive $55,269,0001,2,3,4 in tax refunds, credit and benefit entitlements. Thank you for making a difference!

Yet, some credits and benefits were left behind.

We want to change that.

For at-need community members who require assistance completing their returns, the CVITP can help. This free program is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency, community organizations and their volunteers to help those in need file taxes and access credits and benefits, like the monthly Canada child benefit tax-free payment. That’s money in their pockets!

We’re hoping that we can count on your support again this year. We’ve identified a general province-wide need for volunteers with an immediate need in Fredericton, Saint John, St. Stephen, Grand Manan, Edmunston, St. Leonard, Moncton, Bathurst area and Belyeas Cove.

Volunteer today to make a difference in the lives of those in need in your community. How often you volunteer is up to you!

1This data is as of January 7, 2023. As the CRA receives more information, the data may change.
2Refund and benefit entitlement amounts are from federal and provincial benefits administered through the CRA. The amounts apply to income tax and benefit returns filed through the CVITP from January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022.
3The listed province/territory is where the individual was a resident on December 31, 2022, as reported on their return. An individual can have multiple returns (current and previous years) filed under more than one province or territory. Provincial/territorial totals will not add up to national totals. This is because national totals include counts for those whose province/territory of residence could not be identified when the data was gathered.
4All data have been rounded.
